How to Make your Own Dreamcatcher

Hello darlings xx
I'm terribly sorry that I haven't been posting these past two months. I've been going through some very personal things that are hard for me to mention but from now on, I'll try my best to post as regularly :)

Is it just me or do dream catchers have a magical aspect to them? I love them. I used to have two when I was younger, they were hung up onto my ceiling along with fairy lights and stars, so when you looked up it seemed as if you were looking up at the night sky.

Anyways I'm gonna show you how to make your own dream catcher!

Step 1
Get a hoop like this:

Then get some ribbon and wrap it around the hoop and when you get to the top make a knot.

Step 2

Get some type of thread (I used embroidery thread) and make patterns with it starting from the outer side of the hoop and start going in and out of the thread, kinda like this:

There are many different patterns you can try, look some up and learn to do the one you like best.

You can also use lace, which makes it look really pretty.

Step 3
To make your dream catcher look like an actual dream catcher, you have to have feathers and beads.
You can add them to the web of the hoop or can have them dangling down from the hoop.
Step 4
Make sure you're happy with what you've made and hang it up!

You can also make dream catcher bracelets, necklaces, earrings, charms etc.
I made a keychain. I know it's not the best but it was my first and I'm proud.

Well, that's all it takes to make a dream catcher. Email us some pics if you've tried to make your own.
Goodbye darlings xxx

Sunday Couch Potato : Pip-pip Doodlely do!

Hey! Long time since a post. I really have no excuse. Usually I'm consistent with posts and we always plan our posts but January was a month I needed for myself. I wanted to quickly fill you in on what happened so far this year.

I wanted change. Happiness, don't we all? I wanted to change mentally, emotionally, socially and physically. I stuck to my resolutions and punished myself when I broke a few (damn you procrastination!) In the past month, I guessed I slightly matured. I was always putting people's needs in front of mine and I just wanted to be a little selfish for once. I changed in some ways but stayed the same in others. I need space basically; to be alone for a while.

I did. I became independent, not relaying on my friends, well not all the time, I kinda stopped talking to a few people because I knew they wouldn't understand. I have choices too! They needed to accept this.

I think I'm a stronger person now, in a really good way. My anxiety, I can talk about it more openly. Not so much in detail because its still personal, but in a way, I'm more trusting. And independent. At the same time.

I really wanted to post for a while now but I didn't find the time or something came up. I also became sick and right now I'm on the sofa supposedly studying for 4 exams this week. Curse you mid-terms! Don't worry though, after this week I'll post more regularly.

That's all.

Pip-pip doodley do!

MKay. bye!

What's in store for Jan/Feb?

Hey y'all!
It's been a good year for Kaleidoscope, but the past is in the past. We have some recent updates that we'd like you to know. So Let's get started!

As some of you may know, we actually only started our blog on Blogger recently. We used to use the web-hosting site Wix.com . But after careful planning and consideration, we decided to move. So this is the new-but old blog, Inspired Notebook!

So another thing that is pretty big for us is that we will be doing some collabs with other blogs. This is really exciting and we will hopefully post this later this month or early February. So since we have a new name, site and will be doing new posts like more fashion and lifestyle. We might even be doing some videos! Hopefully this  will be a good start to the new year. The next posts will be about change, out new things and all that jazz.

I really hope 2014 is a good new for us. If you have any suggestions please comment below.
XOXO Bee.

Goodbye Anxiety and Stress!

Hello there everybody! My name is Bianca and I cannot believe 2014 is already here in Europe! I am literally freaking out! Usually, I post about beauty, fashion etc. But today I wanted a fresh start. I know everybody says that at the beginning of the year, but I actually mean it. I wanted to start this year with a jump-start!

When I look at last year, there were so many oppurtunities that I didnt do or I decided to ignore. I was kidda getting bored with my life & I felt like I needed something that would get me excited again. I got new hobbies, new friends, tried out new experiences, but honestly I felt like I wasn't happy with any of them. I have never told anybody about this but I think since its a new year its time for me to come out of my shell. In the past year I had secretly been dealing with panic-attacks and anxiety. I felt so alone and when I went to school, I had to deal with people who would consantly annoy me, when I was already feeling pissed. This mean I went through a lot of mood-swings and I had bad relationships with my family and close friends.

My mood-swings got so bad that one day at home I just freaked out. I was playing with my younger brother and he accidently tipped over my stuff and I ended up shouting at him. I was in a mood, he was in a mood and I just wanted everyone to just leave me alone. I got irritated at the littlest of things and even going to school to face my friends was a challenge. There were times I wanted to come out and just have someone just listen to me, but I was kind of the listener to everyone else. I became indecisive at whether I would talk to my school's guidence consellor, my best friends or my parents. In the end I should have talked to anyone of them, but I didn't. I am literally shaking as I write this down...

By the time October came around, I needed something to get my mind of things like stress, anxiety, panic-attacks, mood-swings etc. So I decided to start of this blog. I had done other blogs before but this time I didn't want to be alone. I then decided to do this with 2 of my good friends Laura and Zahra. And in the end this has become one of the best decisions of 2013 yet! I don't have that many attacks anymore and my anxiety isn't really ruining my life anymore too. I was greatful for everything in 2013, but I can't say it was my best year. So I decide that 2014 will.

So this is why I need a fresh start. And I hope you will join me on my journey.

New Year's Resolutions! ~ Zahra

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERBODY!

It's a new year so that means new beginnings.

Here are my new years resolutions:
-Exercise
I say this every year but lets see if I actually do it this year.

-Study more
I honestly have to stop puttig off studying till the very last minute.

-Eat healtier
I really need to cut down on the junk food and all the fast-food food.

-Learn new recipes
This year I want to learn to cook/bake more things than I already can. Also learn to cook healthy meals.

-Take care of plants/flowers
Okay I suck at taking care of plants so when Spring rolls around I want to start gardening and learn how to actually keep a flower alive for longer than 5 days. I think I'll start with a cactus.

-Work more on my hobbies
I realised I haven't been doing the things (hobbies) I used to love all that often and I also want to try out new things this year.

-Try not to judge a book by its cover
In 2013 I met a lot of new people and learnt many things about people I already know. I always have a bad first impression about someone (I don't even know why, I just do) but some how I end up loving that person so in 2014 (and the rest of my life) I want to get to know someone before I jugde them.

-Read more books
Speaking about jugding books, I need to start reading more.

-No more drama
2013 was streesful and I'm sick of drama. I'm gonna keep 2014 drama free (wish me good luck)

-Enjoy the little things in life
Don't rush things and enjoy what's going on around you.

Well that's my new years resolution.
What's your? Comment below

Bye for now xx
